About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chef Manager to join our team at Anchor Hanover. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety in our care homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Chef Manager and manage all aspects of catering, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Supervise and train catering staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations, including COSHH and food safety standards.
  • Minimise waste and ensure efficient use of kitchen equipment and resources.
Requirements
  • Intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certificate with Catercraft or similar award.
  • Health and safety legislation knowledge, including COSHH and food safety standards.
  • Proven experience in chef and people management, with a track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Basic knowledge of dietary requirements for older people.
  • Safe use of kitchen equipment, including knives.
Desirable Skills
  • Able to negotiate, influence, and prioritise activities.
  • Flexible and innovative, with the ability to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
