About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team at Arena Racing Company as a Tote Assistant. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering customer betting transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as Gambling Commission Regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain and maintain an excellent knowledge of various types of bets and minimum spends.
  • Prepare to receive customers by setting up cash and betting terminals.
  • Effectively operate both static terminals and hand-held terminals for table service.
  • Manage cash transactions following correct procedure, taking great care to ensure monies balance.
  • When taking bets, clarify with customers to ensure correct bets have been placed, as bets cannot be rectified after the race.
  • Safeguard cash by adhering to security procedures.
  • Reconcile cash by completing cash reports.
  • Safeguard transactions by verifying identity to ensure no under 18s are involved in the gambling process. Always be vigilant to Challenge 21 policy and record findings following company guidelines.
  • Work within the guidelines and regulations of the Gambling Commission, with particular attention to vulnerable persons and money laundering.
  • Create a positive impression and be attentive and responsive to customer needs.
  • Work in a timely manner to meet race time constraints and achieve optimal betting time.
