Safety and Compliance Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Safety and Compliance Manager to join our team at the Europlan Group.
This is a full-time, onsite position based at the Port of Nigg, offering a competitive salary of £65,000 per annum.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. A relevant degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, along with membership of NEBOSH, is essential.
A CSCS or CITB safety card is also required, as well as the ability to undergo a strict security background check as part of the onboarding process.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Acting as an HSE focal point for all project health, safety, and environmental activities.
- Liaising with HSE Manager/Project Manager/Construction Managers to ensure H&S attendance at key project meetings.
- Liaising regularly with client HSE Representatives and satisfying HSE requirements.
In addition, the Safety and Compliance Manager will support the HSSE Manager/Project Manager/Construction Managers with incident investigation, keeping records of incidents and accidents, and producing statistics for managers. They will also keep records of inspections findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
The role requires managing corrective and preventative actions to effective closure and monitoring thereafter. The successful candidate will drive excellence throughout the project, providing a safe and compliant workplace. This includes undertaking worksite inspections, attending daily shift briefings, and monitoring their effectiveness.
Other responsibilities include actively supporting the online induction process, carrying out on-site inductions, and conducting internal HSE training as required.
The Safety and Compliance Manager will assist in the investigation of incidents and near misses, working in liaison with clients to ensure root causes are identified and lessons learnt are shared to improve H&S performance.
They will also assist and advise Project Managers and Supervisors in the production of risk assessments and support the review of all necessary Method Statements and Risk Assessments associated with the entire work scopes.
The successful candidate must understand and promote the Europlan culture throughout all phases of projects, setting a positive personal example. They should be able to promote the culture of personal accountability, where safe behaviors are reinforced and unsafe challenged.
Ultimately, the Safety and Compliance Manager will assist in developing an environment where personnel are empowered to stop any work that they perceive to be unsafe.
