About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and collaborative individual to join our Engagement team as a Community Engagement Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience of working with communities to make a real difference to the creation of the London Museum, one of Europe's biggest cultural projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a friendly and welcoming first point of contact for internal and external users of the temporary creative community space and build good relationships with local residents, community partners and stakeholders.
  • Deliver the effective day-to-day practical and administrative aspects of the space, including coordinating bookings, supporting freelancers and colleagues during activities, ordering materials and making sure equipment is available, and ensuring that the space is clean, maintained and well-organised.
  • Work closely with the Creative Producer to support the preparatory work prior to the temporary creative community space opening to the public, including supporting the planning and delivery of design, fit-out, community consultation and welcome events.
  • Support the delivery of activities in the local area, including a summer holiday programme of family-friendly play events, community tours of the new London Museum site and Open House events.
  • Maintain a central bank of information relating to the temporary creative community space and associated programmes.
  • Provide information about the programme for inclusion in progress reports to senior management and funders.
  • Work with other Coordinators in the department to ensure the consistent application of systems, procedures, templates and tools.
  • Respond to general enquiries about the programme.
  • Be an effective advocate for the programme internally and externally.

  • Highly organised with great practical problem solving skills.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of people.
  • Possess a passion for supporting community-led activities and projects within an arts, heritage or community setting.
  • Awareness of the complexity of London's society, an appreciation of the inequalities experienced by marginalised communities, and a commitment to putting inclusion and anti-racist practice at the heart of your work.
