About The Role

Delivering Excellence in Planning

M Group Services, a leading provider of essential infrastructure services, is seeking a highly skilled Planning Manager to join our team. As a Planning Manager, you will play a critical role in leading our planning and scheduling team to deliver exceptional results in the Yorkshire Water Smart Metering programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing planning and scheduling team to optimize performance, customer experience, and commercial objectives.
  • Ensure all planning activities are completed compliantly and within contract SLAs, with a clear focus on KPI performance measures.
  • Implement and uphold our company's key values and behaviors in the planning area.
  • Manage and review Service Delivery performance, including cost of failure.
  • Ensure delivery targets are managed and met.
  • Share best practices through regular liaison meetings with colleagues and clients.
  • Ensure all works are planned with a continued focus on supply interruptions and DG3 targets.
  • Deliver Yorkshire Water's KPI performance measures.
  • Ensure that all operational resource has an achievable and commercially viable workload planned every day.
  • Assist in the delivery of all planned work with close liaison with operational colleagues.
  • Ensure that NRSWA legislation and requirements are followed within your teams.

Requirements

  • Experience in a leadership role, with the ability to build an efficient and well-motivated team.
  • Leadership of all colleagues across the planning and scheduling functions, supporting development, diversity, and inclusion, and championing employee engagement.
  • Extensive system and process knowledge, with IT literacy and experience with SAP, ICE, Street Manager, Advantex, and Power BI.
  • Previous Senior Management experience in utility contracting or a similar environment.
  • Good understanding of commercial/strategic awareness.
  • Ability to be decisive and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to inspire and motivate a team, while effectively managing client stakeholders.
  • Confidence in delegating tasks while maintaining full oversight of planning and scheduling functions within the team.
