About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Carpenter to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Estates and Facilities Management Directorate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and maintaining a high standard of maintenance and repair work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out a range of maintenance and repair tasks, including carpentry, joinery, and other building trades work.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to prioritize and complete tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and Trust policies.
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance plans and schedules to ensure optimal use of resources.
  • Supervise and train junior staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Participate in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in a maintenance or building trades role.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and Trust policies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that require manual handling and lifting.
