Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Holt Recruitment is partnering with a global leader in Space sustainability, a dynamic and rapidly growing technology innovator who is making significant contributions to tackle the growing problem of orbital space debris.

This is a business-wide role which requires a focus on managing existing processes and adopting new practices as appropriate to ensure the smooth running of Reporting, Forecasting and Budgeting and providing Finance support for the business.

The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will provide Reporting and Forecasts of the organisation's cash flow, profit and loss (income statement) and operating performance for the upcoming quarter and year. These forecasts inform management on the progress and effectiveness of the company's strategic plans and investments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the monthly and quarterly reporting process ensuring the timely production of department and consolidated reporting.
  2. Consolidate quarterly Project forecasts ensuring the Company forecast reflects all major project milestones.
  3. Prepare annual Department budgets - Work with department budget holders to prepare and review forecasts on a quarterly basis ensuring sound financial management and planning.
Financial Statement Preparation:
  1. Manage the year-end audit and have oversight of the year-end financial statement preparation ensuring the main statements and supporting documents are accurately presented and reconciled.
  2. Ensure reporting is in line with UK GAAP and adopted policies as well as ensuring the statements are converted to IFRS for group consolidated reporting as required.
  3. Liaise with external accountant to provide information for the annual Corporation Tax return and R&D claim.
  4. Liaise with external financial accountant to complete any company secretarial duties regarding filings with Companies House.
Requirements:
  1. Professional accounting qualification CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
  2. Previous relevant experience working in a similar role with 5+ years progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with a strong focus on budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling, in corporate finance, consulting, auditing or another analytic environment.
  3. Excellent Excel skills.
  4. Experience creating financial statements, accounts, and reports.
  5. Experience with general ledger functions and the month/year-end financial processes.
  6. Ability to distil complex financial data into actionable insights.
  7. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  8. Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  9. Experience with software packages SAP would be an advantage.
