Job Summary

Voxconsultants is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Area Development Manager. This position will play a critical role in planning and delivering the company's Development and Regeneration programme to meet the objectives within the Housing Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programme Management: Lead and coordinate regeneration projects from the development phase, through inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with project management principles, including risk management assessment, value for money, and project performance.
  • Regeneration Project Leadership: Oversee all aspects of regeneration projects, including land assembly, financial viability, stakeholder management, programme/project management, and procurement.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with registered providers, residents, developers, investors, and major landowners to ensure a strategic fit with key objectives for regeneration, identifying opportunities for joint development of council and private/public sector land.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Determine the most effective procurement and contractual arrangements for schemes, managing risk and reward, and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.
  • Funding and Budget Management: Ensure that funding is in place to support regeneration activity, identifying and securing external sources of finance, and managing the regeneration programme budget.
  • Regeneration Programme Monitoring: Monitor and ensure timely and appropriate spending in relation to HRA activity on estate renewal, in conjunction with the head of development and regeneration and housing finance department.
Requirements
  • Experience and Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of associated housing services, including management, defects, and repairs, and their impact on Housing Development and Regeneration schemes.
  • Industry Knowledge: Have experience working in a housing association or council, with a strong understanding of physical, economic, and social regeneration, including the development of innovative strategies and delivery mechanisms.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrate experience in managing complex housing-led regeneration programmes from inception to completion, including design, planning, and construction stages, and working in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Contract Details
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office/on site.
  • Remuneration: PAYE via Umbrella.
  • Contract Duration: Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract.
