Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RF Test Engineer to lead our team at a state-of-the-art test and evaluation facility in Farnborough. As the primary technical contact, you will work closely with customers to plan and support domestic and international trials, ensuring the successful integration of new capabilities, assets, and test equipment.

As a key member of our Electronic Warfare Operations Support Group (EWOS), you will be responsible for leading the development of the laboratory, mentoring junior engineers, and developing into the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the project facility. Your expertise in creating test scripts, understanding synthetic testing environments, and technical management of a production laboratory will be invaluable to our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the laboratory, ensuring successful integration of new capabilities, assets, and test equipment.
  • Plan and support domestic and international trials, working closely with customers and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers to bring out their full potential.
  • Develop into the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the project facility, acting as the main point of contact for stakeholder queries.

Requirements:

  • Experience creating test scripts/programmes (e.g. LabView, Python, MATLAB).
  • Understanding of synthetic testing environments.
  • Experience Integration/calibration of hardware and software models into a laboratory environment.
  • Operation of entity models through GUIs (understanding mission objectives for each model).
  • Technical management of a production laboratory, including support for customer trials.
  • Leading and managing a small team of engineers.
  • STEM Degree or extensive relevant experience.

Desirable:

  • EW Domain Knowledge
  • Creation of laboratory procedures.
  • Experience managing both analogue and digital interfaces between electronic components (RF/EO/Data).
  • Use of laboratory equipment (Vector Signal Analysers, Signal Generators & Oscilloscopes).
  • Understanding of RF/EOIR systems and sensors.
  • Version controlling hardware and software components.
  • Mentoring & coaching of junior engineers.
  • Experience working on agile projects.
