Job Summary:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Maintenance Specialist to join our Field Service Department. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing discreet maintenance tasks on customer aircraft, including modifications, repairs, and scheduled maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of Contractor Working Party (CWP) deployments by assessing team composition requirements.
  • Identify additional training needs specific to tasks.
  • Assess work instructions to determine GSE, tooling, and material requirements.
  • Agree on CWP travel arrangements.
  • Review overall task risks and implement mitigation plans.
  • Interact with Leonardo departments, customers, and suppliers to agree and progress CWP plans.
  • Monitor work progress to agreed schedules and budgets, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Manage day-to-day assigned work requirements within the scope of the pre-defined Statement of Work.
  • Ensure all work performed by the CWP complies with Company Operating System (COS) procedures and relevant maintenance exposition.
  • Hold and maintain company inspection approval on in- and out-of-production aircraft, enabling certification of work performed.
  • Respond to work requirements in the UK and overseas, operating to irregular work routines and extended hours when necessary.
  • Undergo regular medical assessments to ensure global fitness to travel and comply with AW Occupational Health Centre (OHC) requirements.

Requirements:

  • Completed an Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship or Military Equivalent.
  • Engineering qualification (Minimum HNC/BTEC or equivalent).
  • Solid experience working in an aviation environment with a good understanding of aviation engineering and maintenance standards.
  • Ideal leadership capabilities, communication skills, and previous overseas working experience.
  • Experience and computer literacy will be advantageous.
