Engineering Manager Job Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Lead Engineer Testing to join our team at Leonardo SpA. As a key player in Aerospace, Defence, and Security, we are committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on the development of Surveillance AESA radars and radar systems for the SAAB Gripen fighter jets.

As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of Supportability Engineers who deliver a wide range of Supportability Engineering work packages. Key responsibilities include:
  • Reliability Analysis: Developing component to system level reliability models using Reliability Block Diagram Methodology on electronic, power, RF, digital, and mechanical systems.
  • Maintainability Analysis: Carrying out modular to system level analysis addressing Human Factors and Maintenance Task Analysis to identify Reliability Centred Maintenance and Scheduled Maintenance tasks.
  • Testability Analysis: Completing a FMECA analysis working closely with Hardware engineers to establish the effectivity of fault detection and isolation of the equipment BIT.
  • Product Safety: Participating in a broader safety team, including Design Integrity and Systems Engineering, to carry out analysis of the design, its assembly, test, and operation to complete an Intrinsic Product Safety hazard and Environment Impact Analysis.
  • Support Strategy: Helping to develop a product's In-Service Support strategy using through-life cost modelling and many aspects of the above analysis.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline, with strong industry experience and commercial awareness. This is a hybrid working position based in GB - Edinburgh, offering a competitive salary of £90,000 - £110,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
