Assistant Buyer

Madisons Recruitment is seeking a skilled Assistant Buyer to join a reputable contractor in London.
This role involves procuring goods and services in line with company needs and construction requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, design teams, and procurement managers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:- Procure and schedule products, materials, plant, and equipment
- Ensure purchases offer best value
- Monitor and report price increases, updating internal spreadsheets
- Track orders and address failed or late deliveries
- Arrange returns of non-conforming products
- Maintain and develop the supply chain
- Identify new products
- Process purchase ledger records
- Minimum 2 years purchasing experience in the construction industry, ideally with a sales background
- Building merchant experience highly desirable
- Experience and/or education in procurement and inventory management
- Working knowledge of computer programs for word processing, email, and spreadsheets
- Hybrid working arrangement with one day of travel to London per week
- Travel expenses covered
- Permanent opportunity
- Competitive salary range of £28,000-£32,000 per annum
