Assistant Buyer Role Overview

As an Assistant Buyer at Currys, you will play a key role in supporting the Buyer and Senior Buyer in delivering a compelling range of products to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team, managing supplier relationships, selecting and negotiating product ranges, and analyzing trading performance to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Buyer and Senior Buyer in managing supplier relationships and negotiating product ranges
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform product range decisions
  • Collaborate with the Senior Buyer, Merchandising, Online, and GTM teams to drive sales and profitability
  • Analyze trading performance and provide insights to inform business decisions
  • Support the Senior Buyer in pricing and product range decisions

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a buying function, with a strong working knowledge of technical products
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Organized, analytical, and numerate with good judgment
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer needs understanding
  • Marketing/Merchandising/Retail/Business degree
