Assistant Buyer Role Overview

As an Assistant Buyer at Currys, you will play a key role in supporting the Buyer and Senior Buyer in delivering a compelling range of products to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team, managing supplier relationships, selecting and negotiating product ranges, and analyzing trading performance to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Buyer and Senior Buyer in managing supplier relationships and negotiating product ranges
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform product range decisions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products
  • Collaborate with the Senior Buyer to set category CPI targets and develop pricing strategies
  • Provide analytical support to the Buyer and Senior Buyer to inform business decisions

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a buying function, preferably in a retail or FMCG environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Commercial awareness and a deep understanding of customer needs
  • Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, or Business degree
