About the Role

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our Histopathology team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality pathology service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine histology, IHC, and special tests to support diagnostic services
  • Participate in quality control and assurance activities to ensure compliance with UKAS ISO: 15189 standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems
  • Provide training and support to junior staff members
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures and protocols
Requirements
  • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
  • BSc Biomedical Science or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in pathology laboratory settings, with a focus on histopathology
  • Knowledge of UKAS and ISO 15189 standards
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
