Manufacturing Engineer - Final Assembly Line

Are you passionate about manufacturing and engineering? Do you want to be part of a team that designs, develops, and delivers aircraft operating around the world?

We are currently recruiting for multiple Manufacturing Engineers to join our team on the Final Assembly Line in Yeovil. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in assessing the ease of manufacture in Design Reviewing and acting as a liaison between Design and Production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Representing Manufacturing Engineering in assessing the ease of manufacture in Design Reviewing
  • Creating Manufacturing Bills of Material (BOM) to define build of Aircraft
  • Creation of Delivery Standard Documentation (TSD) to support procurement activity
  • Responsible and accountable for the accurate and timely availability of Work Instructions
  • Processing design changes and introducing them into the current assembly process
  • Identification and implementation of improvements to the build process and build logic
  • Amending work instructions on the Production Line to rectify errors
  • Compiling SAP Production Orders to manufacture or rework components
  • Responsible for identification and requesting of Tooling on the Assembly lines
  • Providing information to support an impact analysis for the efficient introduction of change
  • Providing estimates of production times to enable accurate capacity planning and cost estimating

Requirements:

  • Educated to at least HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline and/or a time served apprenticeship
  • A knowledge of Mechanical or Electrical Aircraft Systems, depending on own discipline
  • Some post-training experience desirable
  • Able to use graphics software (Paintshop Pro)
  • Familiar with the Engineering change process and documentation
  • Familiar with the use of estimating model spreadsheets as provided by work analysis
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing techniques

Desirable Skills:

  • Working knowledge of CATIA (V4/V5) & ENOVIA
  • Understand the principles of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Working knowledge of the process and output of the Configuration Control Board (CCB)
