Job Title: Instructor - SEMH School

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Instructor to join our team at Chesham House School, a specialist provision for young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring the department and school are successful in achieving their aims. You will work closely with the Headteacher and other members of the team to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of our learners
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support the development of our learners
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive team
  • Contribute to the development of the school's curriculum and policies
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching and learning practices
Person Specification:
  • Understanding of teaching, learning and qualifications
  • Experience of working in non-mainstream settings with challenging learners
  • Ability to empathise and support the development of learning
  • Robust understanding of safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to work as part of a small team
  • Good general level of education (Teaching qualification, ideally hold a Level 2 qualification in Mathematics and English or equivalent)
  • Excellent delivery and communication skills
