Job Title: Instructor

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Instructor to join our team at Chesham House School, a specialist provision for young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring the department and school are successful in achieving their aims. You will work closely with the Headteacher and other members of the team to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that meet the needs of our students.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that are engaging, challenging and relevant to the needs of our students.
  • Assess and record student progress, providing feedback and guidance to support their development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement school policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of the school's curriculum and assessment strategies.
Person Specification:
  • Understanding of teaching, learning and qualifications.
  • Experience of working in non-mainstream settings with challenging learners.
  • Ability to empathise and support the development of learning.
  • Robust understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to work as part of a small team.
  • Good general level of education (Teaching qualification, ideally hold a Level 2 qualification in Mathematics and English or equivalent).
  • Excellent delivery and communication skills.

Chesham House School is an independent specialist provision which provides high quality, personalised education for young people aged 10 to 18 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and who are at significant risk.
