Advanced Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking an Advanced Pharmacy Technician to join our rotational team. The successful candidate will work across various clinical areas, including the dispensary, medicines management services (MMS), and the aseptic unit. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe, effective, and timely delivery of pharmaceutical services to our patients.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide clinical pharmacy services to a variety of medical/surgical specialties.
- Assess patients' own medications, undertake construction of accurate drug histories, supply required medications to assigned wards, and prepare medications or discharge, including counseling of patients.
- Dispensary-based duties, including accuracy checking on the ACT bench, dispensing medications for discharges, and ensuring supplies of medications are sent to the wards in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff, nursing staff, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective service delivery.
- Liaise with portering, transport, and drug company/wholesaler delivery drivers to facilitate the prompt receipt and delivery of medicines.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
- Experience in dispensing, ward-based services, and aseptic preparation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage workload and workflow effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in supervising and training junior staff.
- Knowledge of the Trust's electronic systems (e.g., Emis, Oasis, Bluespier).
