Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team in a rotational role across various clinical areas, including the dispensary, medicines management services (MMS), and the aseptic unit.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to a variety of medical/surgical specialties, including assessing patients' own medications, constructing accurate drug histories, and supplying required medications to assigned wards.
  • Support the dispensary in the morning with accuracy checking on the ACT bench and dispensing medications for discharges.
  • Assist the discharge team as needed, ensuring timely and accurate supply of medicines to patients during their stay and upon discharge.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
  • Experience in dispensing, ward-based services, and aseptic preparation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage workload and workflow effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Relationships
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff, nursing staff, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Liaise with portering, transport, and drug company/wholesaler delivery drivers to facilitate the prompt receipt and delivery of medicines.
Risk Assessment
  • Exposure to infections, bodily fluids, and noxious chemicals as part of the role.
  • Work within small-enclosed spaces and handle hazardous or sterile materials.
  • Provide patient counseling under emotionally distressing conditions.
