About Operations & Claremont Ingredients
The Operations division is at the heart of our customers' experience here at THG. We manufacture a wide range of sports nutrition and food production consumer goods that we then dispatch to our customers in over 200 countries worldwide from our purpose-built, innovative manufacturing and distribution centers.
Claremont is a UK flavor company based near Stoke on Trent in the West Midlands. At this site, we create and manufacture a complete range of liquid and powder flavorings for beverages, baked goods, ice cream, and dairy products, sugar and chocolate confectionery, and sports nutrition products. Our aim is always to make sure that our flavors help create finished food and drinks that consumers will want to come back for time after time.
Role: Multi-Skilled Engineer
Location: Claremont Ingredients
Core Hours: 8am - 4pm (Flexibility required depending on business/site needs)
Salary Range: £44,000-£48,000 per annum
About the Role
Your objective, through modern maintenance systems, will be to maintain business as usual for the plant operations, to continuously improve availability/reliability of the equipment, and to do so safely. The role will be a key part in the leadership of the site agenda, working as part of the site leadership team.
You will lead the planned, proactive, and reactive maintenance activities and drive a continuous improvement culture.
You will have a good understanding of modern maintenance techniques as well as good working operational knowledge of a food manufacturing site. You should also be capable of ensuring a quick reaction to daily business needs and be able to balance this against dedicating an appropriate amount of time and energy to developing improvement strategies and action plans.
The Site MSE will be at the heart of the site's progressive agenda and is key to the performance and reliability of the Claremont ingredients site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and execution of the site's Maintenance strategy.
- Reliability-focused using modern techniques such as TPM, RCA, RCM, and FMEA to increase equipment reliability. Delivering monthly improvement plans.
- Support the continuous improvement culture and failure analysis agenda for the site by driving CMMS data to develop action plans to permanently solve problems by addressing the root cause.
- Resolve engineering breakdowns and then utilize RCA to implement long-term fixes.
- Effective weekly and monthly planned maintenance planning based on compliance with the existing schedule and management of the preventative work order backlog to ensure 100% compliance is achieved and risks removed.
- KPI analysis reporting both weekly and monthly and ensure KPIs are met, results published to key stakeholder groups.
- Control of planned maintenance outages and events.
- Build capability model with the team focusing on asset knowledge and maintenance processes.
- Support the delivery of engineering excellence growth in responsible categories.
- Complete risk assessments and manage Permit to Works.
- Manage third-party contracts effectively.
- Budget management and support, clear forecasting of spend, and contribute to the development of annual budget projections.
Role Requirements
- Multi-skilled engineer with electrical qualifications, either electrical or mechanically biased.
- Time-served engineer with a recognized apprenticeship.
- The ideal candidate will hold an ONC/HNC qualification.
- Experience working with maintenance planning systems.
- Strong understanding of H&S, IOSH qualifications are desirable.
- Experience with CMMS, management, deployment, and auditing.
- Excellent computer and communication skills.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation will be at the heart of your work.
- Experience of RCA processes.
- Experience of food manufacturing and BRC requirements would be preferred.
- The ability to cover other sites during major engineering interventions is desirable.
