Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthetic Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our team in the Catheter Laboratory. As an Anaesthetics Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing safe and effective anaesthesia services to our patients.

About the Role

As an Anaesthetics Support Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining health, safety, and infection control practices in line with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Preparing and administering prescribed drugs to patients, monitoring their effects, and ensuring compliance with Trust policies.
  • Assessing requirements for safe anaesthesia in the Cath Lab and identifying plans for recovery.
  • Communicating effectively with other members of the Cath Lab team, Anaesthetists, and clinical staff.
  • Providing resources to cover 24-hour emergency rotas as required and contributing to the efficient use of funded Cath Lab time.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in an Anaesthetic environment, preferably in a Catheter Laboratory.
  • Strong knowledge of anaesthetic techniques and pharmacology.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
