Civil Engineering Project Lead

RSK Group is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Lead to join their team in the Thames Valley area.
The role involves leading a team providing a high-quality civil engineering service to clients on highway improvement schemes across the south region, including Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Gloucestershire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage labour, plant, transport, and equipment on site, ensuring safe and legal operations in accordance with the project plan.
- Direct teams in the construction of works, monitoring labour allocation and tool/equipment usage.
- Ensure health and safety of personnel on site and prevent adverse environmental impact.
- Manage relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Produce delivery programmes and liaise with planners to ensure compliance with NEC/Contract standards.
- Act in accordance with RSK Group's values of Dedication, Adaptability, Efficiency, and Integrity.

- Monitor and review site staff performance, including performance appraisals and disciplinaries.
- Travel when required and conduct quality and safety inspections.
- Onboard, allocate, and manage Sub Contractors and sub contract labour.
- Motivate teams.
Requirements:
- Experience in the Water industry on non-infrastructure projects in clean and waste water environments.
- Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- NEC 3&4 Contract knowledge, including drafting notifications and supporting programming.
- Set standards of health and safety.
- Experience of leading a team of site workers.
- Experience of planning and organising own workload.
- Ability to manage customer, supplier, and stakeholder relationships.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Knowledge of CDM and industry requirements.
- Awareness of employment legislation and best practice.
- Computer literacy, MS Office suite.
- Ability to identify problems and devise solutions.
- Ability to meet targets and deadlines, often under difficult conditions.
- Ability to manage a team or task in accordance with the project plan.
- Willingness to undertake training and development.
- Produce complex project-specific RAMS.
- Take off materials from drawings and schedule for procurement.
Qualifications:
- Mandatory:
- CSCS.
- NVQ level 6 or 7.
- Full UK driving licence.
- First aid.
- EUSR National Water Hygiene (Blue card).
- SMSTS.
Desirable:
- National Highways Passport.
- Appointed Person (Lifting).
- NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK).
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- Temporary Works Coordinator.
