Worthing, West Sussex, United Kingdom CV-Library Full time
About the Role
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with severe special needs? We are seeking a dedicated and caring Behaviour Buddy to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a Behaviour Buddy, you will play a vital role in supporting children with a range of needs, from autism to complex medical requirements such as tube feeding.

About the Position
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum, reflecting the importance of this role in our organisation. In addition to a stable income, you will have access to ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge as a Behaviour Buddy. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, providing a great work-life balance for those looking for a fulfilling career in childcare support.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on support to children with severe special needs, ensuring they feel valued and included.
  • Assist with the daily care of students, including support for medical needs such as tube feeding (training provided if necessary).
  • Work closely with the teaching and SEN team to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the individual needs of each child.
  • Support the development of social and communication skills through positive interaction and encouragement.
  • Monitor progress and collaborate with other staff members to ensure the best outcomes for each student.

About You
We welcome candidates with experience in similar roles, but it is not essential. What is crucial is a caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children with diverse and complex needs. You should be confident in managing challenging behaviors and providing emotional support. A willingness to learn and take on responsibilities such as tube feeding and other medical support tasks is also essential. If you have a strong commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children with special needs, we would love to hear from you.

About Us
Academics Ltd is a specialist education recruitment agency committed to matching passionate individuals with rewarding roles in schools. As a Behaviour Buddy, you will be part of a dedicated and compassionate team that values every child's potential.
