Clinical Psychologist Position in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services

We are seeking a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team.
This is a permanent Principal Clinical Psychologist (30 hours) post, following an expansion of our psychological therapies provision. The successful candidate will work closely with our Consultant Psychologist to ensure the quality of our psychological provision and develop psychological knowledge and skills across our workforce.
The team is passionate about ensuring the child's voice is central to the work they do and working in partnership with families and other partner agencies support services to achieve the outcomes desired by the child or young person. We strive for high quality and innovative practice.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fully inclusive service, where some of our young people experiencing mental health difficulties also have Intellectual Disabilities or are Neurodiverse. The successful candidate will work with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high quality psychological therapies and assessments to children and families.
- Work closely with our Consultant Psychologist to ensure the quality of our psychological provision and develop psychological knowledge and skills across our workforce.
- Take a lead psychology role and hold responsibility for service development initiatives.
- Develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional and academic settings.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Post-Graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Registration with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner (Clinical) Psychologist.
- Professional knowledge acquired through doctoral training, supplemented by post qualification short specialist courses and further specialist training/specialist clinical experience & clinical supervision.
- Formal post-qualification training in clinical supervision of other psychologists or equivalent experience.

- Ability to identify, provide and promote appropriate means of support to carers and staff exposed to highly distressing situations and severely challenging behaviours.
- Ability to develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional and academic settings.
