Mental Health Support Specialist

Are you passionate about supporting young people's mental wellbeing? Austin Fraser is seeking a recent psychology or criminology graduate to join their team as a Mental Health Youth Worker in Newbury.
The successful candidate will provide consistent support and encouragement to children on a 1-1 basis, helping them achieve their potential through self-regulation techniques, healthy coping mechanisms, and identifying triggers in advance. This role would be highly beneficial to a graduate wanting to follow a career in psychology or criminology due to the frontline experience supporting young people from diverse backgrounds.
Austin Fraser provides a safe environment for children with social, emotional, and mental health needs to access education and learn independence. As a Mental Health Youth Worker, you will play a crucial role in coaching these children, acting as a role model, and giving them guidance regarding educational and non-academic challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to students
- Coach students through self-regulation techniques
- Work closely with on-site psychologists, safeguarding officers, and other professionals
