Job Description

This is a senior-level role that requires extensive experience in Oracle database administration, including database design, physical layout, security, performance monitoring, and improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL, as well as experience in producing user and technical documentation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that best practice is adopted in the design and delivery of all aspects of our database systems. This includes developing design policies and ensuring that they are followed when databases are developed, implementing logical, physical, and security models, and working with other solutions delivery colleagues to help customers articulate their requirements for business systems.

This is a hybrid role, and you may be based at any NHS Blood and Transplant main centres. The salary range for this role is £55,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related subject
  • Qualifications or courses attended in Oracle Database Administration
  • Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)
  • Significant experience in an Oracle DBA environment
  • Excellent query/procedural language skills, such as Oracle PL/SQL and SQL
