Patient Administration Clerk

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and friendly individual to join our Women's Services Maternity Administration team as a Patient Administration Clerk on a Fixed Term Basis for 12 months, covering Maternity Leave.
The successful applicant will need to be able to work flexibly with working patterns in keeping with a 24 hour service over 7 days a week with shift patterns to cover hour shifts (inclusive of breaks). Part time hours are available for this fixed term post of 23 hours per week.
Main Duties
The Patient Administration Clerk will work within a multidisciplinary team where tasks will include but are not limited to provision of reception cover and effective communication with patients, visitors and staff face to face. Input of clinical/administrative data such as referrals, booking outpatient appointments, and entering inpatient activity (admissions, transfers and discharges).
The successful candidate will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels. They will have enthusiasm, motivation and demonstrate pride in their work. We require someone who will ensure we put our patients first to ensure the best patient experience.

Person Specification
- Working experience/knowledge of computers & data input
- Previous clerical experience in an administrative setting
- Experience of working face to face and/or telephone contact with the general public
- Experience in use of computer programs such as, Microsoft Office , Excel
