Patient Administration Clerk

We are seeking an enthusiastic and friendly individual to join our Women's Services Maternity Administration team as a Patient Administration Clerk on a Fixed Term Basis for 12 months, covering Maternity Leave.
Key Responsibilities- Provide reception cover and effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and staff face-to-face.
- Input clinical/administrative data, including referrals, booking outpatient appointments, and entering inpatient activity.
- Register patients into the Maternity Unit using the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and undertake identification checks.
- Administer and maintain relevant IT systems, including the Patient Administration System (PAS) and other local systems.
- Cover for colleagues during periods of sickness, annual leave, or training, prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines.
- Receive and manage telephone and personal enquiries, referring to the appropriate person when necessary.
- Assist in the training of staff, including temporary staff.
- Working experience/knowledge of computers and data input.
- Previous clerical experience in an administrative setting.
- Experience of working face-to-face and/or telephone contact with the general public.
- Experience in using computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
