In Class Support Assistant Position Available

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate In-Class Support Assistant to join our team in Frome. As a Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Education Needs (SEN), including Autism or ADHD, and/or mental health challenges. Your responsibilities will include providing one-to-one support in class or small groups, helping pupils remain focused, and building strong relationships with students and teaching staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who possess a can-do attitude, resilience, and initiative. You do not need previous experience, but a passion for education and working with children is essential. We offer flexible scheduling, with the possibility of working two days a week or full-time during term time only. The ideal candidate will be available 8:30-15:30.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting individual students in class or small groups
  • Assisting pupils in remaining focused and engaged
  • BUILDING STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH STUDENTS AND TEACHING STAFF TO ENSURE STUDENTS REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL
Essential Criteria:
  • Be empathetic, kind, and patient
  • Have a valid right to work in the UK (a valid visa)
  • Provide two recent references covering the last two years
  • Hold relevant DBS/Police checks or be willing to obtain them

The hourly rate is £12.81*, and the daily rate would be approximately £83.29* (£12.81* x 7 hours) + holiday pay. Please note that this rate may vary based on your level of experience. *Including holiday pay
