As a Medical Practitioner at Frome Medical Practice, you will be part of a highly professional team working within a collaborative environment that values continuous learning and growth. We are proud of our reputation for being a 'Learning Organisation' with a strong focus on GP Education and development, which would be great support for newly qualified practitioners.

The large number of GPs creates a supportive and friendly atmosphere, encouraging regular coffee breaks, team meetings, and socialising. You will work alongside a dedicated complex care team, nurse practitioners, mental health nurse practitioners, first contact physiotherapists, and a pharmacy team to provide comprehensive patient care.

We have strong relationships with local community groups and healthcare providers, with our practice situated next to the local community hospital, where we collaborate on overseeing our community ward and provide sessions for other local services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Providing high-quality medical services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and referral.
  • Offering preventative health advice and guidance to promote healthy lifestyles.
  • Preparing detailed medical reports for insurance companies, employers, and statutory bodies.
  • Contributing to the development of protocols and systems for managing common medical conditions.
  • Participating in clinical governance activities to improve patient outcomes through our audit programme.
  • Maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge and skills through educational activities and personal development plans.
  • Supporting the training and development of nurses, medical students, and GP registrars within the practice.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified as a GP with full registration with the GMC.
  • Demonstrated understanding of wider health and social needs within primary care settings.
  • Evidence of quality improvement work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Capacity to prioritise tasks under pressure.
  • Confident communication skills for consultations over the phone and face-to-face.

Salary: £65,000 - £95,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits package.
