Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Community Outreach to join our team at Lucas and Co Consultants Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of advocates, ensuring the delivery of high-quality advocacy services to vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of advocates in delivering outcome-focused, issue-based, person-directed advocacy services.
  2. Develop and implement effective triaging systems to allocate casework to advocates, trainee advocates, apprenticeships, and volunteers.
  3. Ensure timely completion of high-quality commissioning monitoring reports and case studies.
  4. Maintain accurate recording and reporting of all team data.
  5. Liaise effectively with commissioners, social care managers, and other multi-agency staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  6. Identify and mitigate risks in delivering the service while adhering to professional advocacy standards.
  7. Manage client issues and complaints, escalating concerns professionally to relevant public bodies when necessary.
  8. Cultivate an inclusive environment that meets the diverse needs and wishes of clients, including those with disabilities, impairments, and limited English proficiency.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in advocacy, information, and advice or similar roles.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of advocacy guidelines, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • A strong commitment to promoting equality and justice, particularly for vulnerable adults.
