Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting our clinical team to deliver excellent patient outcomes

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with our patients, staff, and stakeholders
About Us

We are a mixed urban/semi-rural practice with 16,000 patients based over three sites. We dispense to a proportion of our patients from modern purpose-built premises at one of our branch surgeries. We are a SystmOne practice and have been at the forefront of adopting digital technologies, currently using 'Anima' as our digital triage platform. We are rated as Good across all areas by the CQC.

We have a broad and varied clinical workforce, including GPs, Advanced Care Practitioners, Paramedics, Mental Health Workers, MSK Practitioners, Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, Care Co-ordinators, and a highly skilled and experienced nursing team. Our clinical team is supported by an experienced management team and dedicated back-office functions.

We are an active member of the award-winning Selby Town Primary Care Network and a training practice with GP registrars, FY2 doctors, Year 4 medical students, and trainee nurses regularly on site. We are dedicated to supporting and developing our workforce to further their skills and develop their careers.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
  • General Practitioner Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
  • MRCGP
  • Full GMC registration
  • National Performers List registration
  • Appropriate MDO indemnity (MPS/MDU)
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
  • Experience of working in a UK primary care setting
  • Evidence of a commitment to continued professional development
  • Excellent level of clinical knowledge and skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Occupational Health clearance

Desirable skills include SystmOne user skills, experience of QOF and clinical audit, experience of medicines management, general understanding of the GMS contract, competent in the use of Office and Outlook, effective time management, ability to work both as a team member and autonomously, problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to follow clinical policy and procedure, and experience with clinical risk management.
