We are pleased to be advertising for First Contact Practitioners to join our expanding MSK service within York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

As a First Contact Practitioner, you will be the first point of contact for GP surgery patients and will work within a Primary Care setting, managing patients at the beginning of the MSK pathway.

You will be a key member of the Primary Care Team and will be responsible for delivering expert screening, assessment, and diagnosis of Musculoskeletal conditions.

The successful candidate will have a broad range of postgraduate experience at senior level in the clinical specialty and will be able to provide frontline expert care to patients with Musculoskeletal conditions.

As part of the FCP team, you will be expected to become fully integrated within your Primary Care Network (PCN) and work as a key member of the Primary Care Team.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be responsible for delivering expert screening, assessment, and diagnosis of Musculoskeletal conditions within Primary Care.
  • As a First Contact Practitioner, you will be the first point of contact for GP surgery patients and will work within a Primary Care setting, managing patients at the beginning of the MSK pathway.
  • You will be a key member of the Primary Care Team and will be expected to become fully integrated within your Primary Care Network (PCN).

Education, Qualifications and Training

  • HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of relevant MSK specialist postgraduate training
  • Have completed a variety of postgraduate courses and experience of working alongside specialist clinicians within relevant clinical specialty

Experience & Knowledge Required

  • Broad range of postgraduate experience at senior level in relevant clinical specialty
  • Evidence of a structured personal development plan
  • Specialist experience of working in clinical specialist area, underpinned by clinical and theoretical training
