Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant - Support Role

Job Description:

New Directions Holding is seeking a dedicated Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant for a 'Good' rated SEND school. This long-term role requires a compassionate and skilled individual to support children with Autism (ASD) and Complex Learning Difficulties (CLD). The successful candidate will work closely with students to create a positive, nurturing environment, helping them navigate their unique challenges and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Be encouraging and supportive.
  • Have a positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the student.

The role involves consistent mentoring, motivating, and advising, as well as some counselling, to help the children achieve their goals and work towards an independent future.

Requirements:

  • Have experience working with children, or adults, with additional needs.
  • Able to support children of all abilities.
  • Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning.
