MEP Design Manager Job Description

John Sisk & Son is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to join their team on a cutting-edge development project. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest possible efficiency and quality in the design process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement design management procedures to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with the design team to produce high-quality design documentation, including DRM, design programme, RFI schedule, MIDP, and IRS.
  • Take ownership of design-related items during the tender process and construction phase, including the production of written narrative and presentation material.
  • Contribute to the selection of the design team, including the production of design team appointments and scope of work.
  • Provide solutions to strategic design items within the tender/construction documents, in line with company procedures and industry standards.
  • Ensure the design meets all health and safety, sustainability, and quality-related requirements.
Requirements:
  • Degree in architecture, engineering, building services, or a related field, plus a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Desirable experience in CDE, BIM, and planning software.
  • Desirable training and experience in sustainability accreditation and H&S.
  • Experience of site/delivery, commercial, and contract procedures.
  • Understanding of building regulations, BCAR, planning permission, and PSDP procedures.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
