About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals to meet the highest standards of quality and safety
  • Ensure all food items are stored correctly and maintained at the correct temperature
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment in line with HACCP guidelines
  • Complete all compliance documentation on a daily basis
  • Assist in maintaining the 5-Star Food Safety Hygiene Rating
  • Work collaboratively with the catering team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Deal with patient, staff, and visitor queries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Food Safety Hygiene Level 2 & QCF Level 3 qualification
  • A knowledge of HACCP and COSHH
  • Ability to prioritize and organize kitchen work
  • Stock management and ordering skills
  • Food hygiene level 3
