Procurement Specialist

- Establish and maintain relationships with embedded partners.
- Compile enquiry information from drawings, specifications, and Merit documentation, working with the project and estimating team to pull together the scope of works.
- Complete due diligence on subcontractors, including CHAS, insurances, and H&S policy, and maintain this information going forward.
- Lead subcontractor negotiations, including terms and conditions, best value for money, payment teams, and rebates.
- Adjudicate all quotations received for work packages to ensure the right subcontractor is selected for the required works.
- Compile NEC or JCT pass-down contracts from the client contract to the subcontractor, including letters of intent and site instructions.
- Complete purchase orders on Netsuite.
- Compile all required collateral warranties from subcontractors.
- Liaise with staff in other departments, including finance, quality, design coordination, and BIM.
- Provide and send information and reports as needed, provide accurate reporting in line with company requirements to weekly procurement meetings, including updates on the stage of each work package from enquiry to contract placement.
- Establish close working relationships with site teams on each project.
- Ensure efficient, thorough planning, and organisation for the department, including the planning and preparation of meetings, conferences, and conference calls, whether internal or external.
- Have a brief understanding of NEC and JCT contracts, including commercial dialogue.
- CIPS Level 4 or Level 5.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
- Have demonstrated a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of modular building would be advantageous.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
- Attention to detail and the ability to track costs accurately.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenge.
- Organised: Able to manage multiple projects and subcontractors simultaneously, delivering a diversity of requirements.
- Cost-Conscious: Always seeking the best value for money.
- Proactive: Researching and suggesting improvements to subcontractor procurement, policies, and systems.
- Team-Oriented: Foster excellent relations with all internal and external stakeholders from staff to clients.
- Detail-Oriented: Ensuring all paperwork and documentation is accurate and timely.
