EHS Compliance Specialist

Job DescriptionThis role reports to the EHS Manager and focuses on managing hazardous/non-hazardous waste, supporting health and safety activities, and implementing environmental management systems (ISO 14001).
- Assist in monitoring operational control activities, including air emissions, waste disposal, and hygiene measurements.
- Coordinate activities related to the implementation, management, control, and improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Ensure compliance with EHS policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Maintain waste and waste disposal areas according to defined standards.
- Provide initial EHS training to new employees.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Stopping activities where applicable EHS procedures are not followed.
- Ensuring employees follow safety rules for each activity type.
- Participating in internal investigations/audits and following up on corrective measures and improvement plans.
- Gathering information for mandatory periodic reports (Environmental & Safety reports).
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements, optimizing resources, and analyzing test methods and processes.
This role requires collaboration with the EHS Manager on coordinating preventive, protective, and corrective measures to ensure safety, as well as participating in emergency situations according to the Internal Emergency Plan.
The ideal candidate should have a degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Environment, NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma, IEMA accreditation, and at least 2 years' experience in Environment, Health & Safety in a manufacturing environment.
