Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Maintenance Coordinator to join our team at Safran Helicopter Engines. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance centre, including the management of tools, consumables, and lifting equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the maintenance centre checklist and general store upkeep, highlighting any anomalies to the team.
  • Monitor special tools calibration and arrange for maintenance as required.
  • Check and maintain lifting equipment, arranging for quarterly inspections and ensuring records are kept.
  • Monitor consumables, arranging for replenishment and payment as necessary.
  • Manage the replacement of tools, from quote to delivery.
  • Assist field technicians with off-site preparations, including documentation and travel arrangements.
  • Maintain the schedule for off-site interventions and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Collect and scan workpacks on return from off-site, checking for completeness and controlling until transfer to SHE UK.
  • Perform basic audits and highlight any anomalies or findings.

Logistic Support

  • Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and SEDSA for the smooth receipt of shipments to Johannesburg satellite station.
  • Dispatch shipments, liaising with freight forwarders and consignees to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate logistic support for off-site interventions, including shipment and return of tools.

Business Administration/Cost Control/SLA Administration

  • Maintain a file system for expenses, scanning documents electronically and ensuring periodic transfer of original documents to SEDSA.
  • Capture data regarding expenses and liaise with SEDSA to compare claims submitted to HEUK with data maintained.
  • Assist locally in SA with business administration topics, including cell phone contracts and vehicle rental.
  • Liaise with SEDSA on coordination of SLA activities.

CSR Support

  • Assist the CSR with the preparation of quotes for off-site interventions, completing the offsite quote form and liaising with FTECH to obtain spares lists.
  • Follow up with customers on counterpart returns.

Quality

  • Support the SAFRAN HE UK quality department during audits from authorities.
  • Interface with SACAA and respond to queries from authorities.

Other

  • Assist with event preparation, liaising and preparing for any events planned.
  • Liaise with HEUK to maintain local stock of customer goodies.
  • Attend daily QRQC and lead production schedule meetings.
  • Coordinate facility cleaners and 5S activities.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience in the aerospace industry.
  • 3 years' experience leading a team of AME.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment, SACAA, and EASA.
  • Knowledge of SAFRAN HE products and environment desirable.
  • Autonomous and self-driven, with ability to work independently and set own priorities.
  • Computer literate, with experience working with office packages and SAP.
