Job Description

A highly experienced Groundworks Manager is required to oversee construction sites in the Chester area for a reputable local company.

This permanent full-time position involves managing subcontractors, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed, maintaining quality workmanship, and developing short-term programmes to maximise efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Manager and hold relevant certifications such as CSCS, SSSTS, and SMSTS. They should also possess strong leadership skills, be able to motivate teams to meet deadlines, and have experience with residential builds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day groundworks operations and ensure completion in accordance with the master programme.
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with site engineers to ensure timely provision of line and level.
  • Maintain document control as part of project control.
  • Manage Integrated Management System (IMS) and policies.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Current health and safety certifications.
  • Valid 360 Excavator ticket.
  • Experience in residential builds.
  • Time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Numeracy and IT skills, including MS Office.
