Excellence in Care Leadership Nurse/Midwife Role

Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom NHS Fife Full time

Internal Applicants Only - Secondment Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, forward-thinking registered Nurse/Midwife to work alongside the current Excellence in Care Lead Nurse, providing effective leadership, influencing, and contributing to the strategic direction, development, and delivery of EiC objectives in NHS Fife and the Health and Social Care Partnership.

You should be a Registered Nurse/Midwife with substantial experience at Band 6 or 7, possessing the ability to demonstrate leadership, management, and analytical skills. You will be able to evidence well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrate excellent levels of communication that will support the organisational drive to assure high-quality care delivery and facilitation of learning.

Highly developed knowledge of quality improvement methodology, underpinned by theoretical knowledge or relevant practical experience, is essential for this role to ensure the delivery of EiC. You will also have knowledge of responsibilities in relation to applicable legislation and professional standards.

Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager. If you do not have approval for a secondment from your current line manager, you will not be able to progress your application for a fixed-term post. External applicants, with continuous NHS Service, must also have in place a secondment agreement, from their existing board, to apply for this post.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.

Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part-time hours.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment. NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
