Matron - Theatres and Critical Care Services Leader

About the Role
The Matron for Theatres and Critical Care will be a highly visible, accessible, and authoritative presence in clinical areas, providing leadership, assistance, advice, and support to patients, their families, and others.
The role will focus on inclusive leadership, professional standards, and accountability, as well as governance, patient safety, and quality. The Matron will also be responsible for workforce planning and resource management, patient experience, and reducing health inequalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Theatre and Critical Care teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient safety and quality of care.
- Work with the multidisciplinary team to identify and address areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators and activity plans.

Essential
- Registered Nursing or AHP qualification.
- Post-registration development at degree level.
- Management experience.
- ENB 998 or equivalent teaching qualification.
Desirable
- Master's Degree.

- Experience and knowledge of clinical nursing practice in Theatre and or Critical Care setting.
- Experience in influencing internal/external activities.
- Experience across the scope of the Matron's ten key roles with potential to do all.
Knowledge
Essential
- Experience at Band 7 or equivalent.
- Current knowledge of clinical nursing practice in Theatres and or Critical care setting.
- Experience of working in partnership with multi-disciplinary team members.
- Implementing complex change in a clinical setting.
