About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in regulatory law, with a focus on the water sector. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on regulatory matters, including compliance with legislation, licences, codes of practice, rules, guidance, and case law.

You will work closely with our clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be essential in helping our clients navigate the complex regulatory landscape of the water industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory matters related to the water industry
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, licences, codes of practice, rules, guidance, and case law
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the water industry
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legal, legislative, regulatory, and industry developments
Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor with at least 8 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) of working within a regulated sector, ideally within the water and sewage sector
  • Experience of working in an in-house environment and of working with all levels of seniority within a business would be beneficial
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the legislation, licences, codes of practice, rules, guidance, and case law that governs the operational running of a regulated utility company
  • Capable of working independently and managing a small and busy team
  • Organised and good at managing time effectively, using appropriate systems and processes
  • Good relationship builder with strong interpersonal skills and highly team-oriented
