Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate transcriptional networks driving hepatocyte development and maturation
  • Test different 3D biomaterials, scaffolds and bioreactors
  • Generate cutting-edge cell therapies to cure liver diseases
  • Investigate different liver diseases using multiple disease modelling formats (2D iPSC, organoids, liver-on-chip, ex vivo liver perfusion)
  • Report findings to research sponsors, present at conferences, and publish in peer-reviewed journals
  • Provide guidance to staff and students involved in the project

Requirements:

  • At Research Assistant level, a first/Masters degree in a relevant biomedical discipline or,
  • At Research Associate level, a PhD in a relevant biomedical discipline
  • Proven experience in multiple research environments with first-authored publications in relevant and refereed journals
  • Knowledge of hepatocyte biology
  • Experience in cell culture and cell-based assays
  • Skillset in dealing with high-dimensional datasets related to cell biology
  • Experience of leading and managing a research project
  • Ability to demonstrate a deep knowledge of own research background and to effectively communicate research achievements to a specialist and to a lay audience
