We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Examiner Officer to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Medical Examiner Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely investigation of deaths within our hospitals and community settings.
Main Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough investigations into deaths, gathering and analyzing medical records and other relevant information.
- Collaborate with medical staff, families, and other stakeholders to gather information and provide support.
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive records of investigations and findings.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to medical staff and other stakeholders on death certification and investigation procedures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to death investigation and certification.
- Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with relevant experience and qualifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with medical staff, families, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze complex information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in using multiple IT systems for recording and reporting.
