Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistants to join SEN Primary Schools in North West London.

Job Summary:

We are looking for experienced and compassionate individuals to provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with complex needs and severe learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support for pupils with SEN, including those with complex needs and severe learning difficulties.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of learning programmes to meet the specific needs of each pupil.
  • Support pupils with daily classroom activities, helping them to access the curriculum and engage with lessons.
  • Provide personal care as required, including support with feeding, toileting, and mobility.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to support their social and emotional development.
  • Assist with managing behaviour, using de-escalation strategies where necessary.
  • Encourage the development of independence and life skills, supporting pupils in working towards their individual goals.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils, particularly those with complex needs and severe learning difficulties.
  • Ability to provide personal care and assist with the individual needs of pupils.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, proactive, and compassionate approach to supporting children with additional needs.
