About the Role

Our client, a new independent school near West Drayton, is seeking a highly skilled SEN High Level Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school caters to learners aged 5-11 with severe learning difficulties and Autism, and is passionate about maximising each child's potential.

Main Responsibilities

As a SEN High Level Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for taking charge of the classroom during teachers' absence, line managing teaching assistants when required, and mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners through a play-based learning approach. You will also provide meaningful feedback on pupil attainment and progress, assist the class teacher with learning environment preparation, and support the class teacher in monitoring, assessing, recording and reporting pupils' progress.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting, a passion for working with SEN children, and a desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual. You will also need to be positive and creative in meeting pupils' individual needs, and have a desire to learn. Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures is also essential.
