Key SEMH Teacher Position

Future Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 6 Primary SEMH Teacher / Secondary trained SEMH Teacher to join our team in the London Borough of Lewisham.
This is a long-term contract position, commencing January 2025, with a competitive daily rate of £160 - £230 per day.
Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status, strong skills in managing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and challenging behaviour. They will create and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of Year 6 students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Class sizes are small, typically between 5-6 children per class with Behaviour Support Staff. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH and ASD.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using appropriate strategies to support students with challenging behaviours.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
