Account Coordinator

About the Position
This role is within the Finance Core Support / Shared Service function of the Business Partnering team at an undisclosed company.
The successful candidate will support the collation of financial information for external and internal reporting, as well as projects. This includes preparing and organizing relevant data, allocating it to the correct reports, and coordinating submissions to external or internal stakeholders when complete.
Key Responsibilities- Process finance workflow for staffing changes as needed.
- Complete SCF (Salary Cost Forecast) maintenance.
- Support external and year-end reporting and information collation, including TRAC, HEBCIS, HESA, REF, TEF, KEF, and Middle States accreditation.
- Work with project leads or managers on SAP WBS project and donation setup, monitoring, maintenance, and closure.
- Check project applications, support project staff cost analysis, and review claims and reports submitted to funders.
- Raise or review sales orders/invoices and produce supporting financial MI as required.
- Stay up-to-date with funder and contractual terms and conditions as necessary.
- Document, update, and adopt financial processes, principles, and approaches ensuring best practice, consistency, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure familiarity with latest process and system guidance, relevant policies, procedures, and university financial regulations as necessary, and support and advise colleagues to ensure compliance.
- Line manage Core Support Assistants as required.
- Provide flexible cover across the BP Core Support Teams as needed.
- Train and develop University staff in finance processes and systems to ensure consistency.
- Liaise with specialist finance support teams.
- Complete other duties as allocated from time to time, both within the team and in providing cover in other areas within the division if required.
Requirements
This position requires recent experience working in an accounting environment, ideally within management accounts or business partnering functions. The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of MS Excel and experience adhering to accounting conventions, financial regulations, and procedures. Practical experience managing others and training/coaching is also essential. AAT intermediate or equivalent, and actively studying, is required. Experience with an ERP finance system is desirable.

What We Offer
This is a full-time, fixed-term role until 31 August 2025. A hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where the successful candidate can work from home and the office. However, some attendance in the office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs.
